The Future of Isle of Wight Council's Tourism Services Under Review
Options for the future delivery of the Isle of Wight Council's Tourism Services are under review following the establishment of a Council led Policy Commission. A paper setting out proposals for Isle of Wight Council tourism services and the wider support structure for economic development was put to the Council's Cabinet on 09 January 2007. Its recommendations were agreed.
The next step is the establishment of a 'Joint Venture' for the provision of tourism services in effect an externalisation of the current Isle of Wight Tourism operation. A Project Group overseen by a Shadow Board is envisaged to ensure a smooth transition from a Council run service to the Joint Venture. TSE has been invited to take part in the Shadow Board. The first meeting is on 17 April 2007.
