Tourism East Sussex

The sub-regional partnership in East Sussex and Brighton is made up of representatives from the private sector, local authorities and TSE. Chaired by Nick Head from the Ambassador Hotel and the Brighton Hotels Association the partnership is running a number of initiatives to develop and promote tourism. These have included:

  • A successful "Sussex gardens" campaign culminating in a stand at the Chelsea Flower Show that won a silver medal and attracted significant consumer interest
  • Completion of the inaugural "Residents' First" promotion to encourage VFR business and greater awareness amongst local residents of the area's tourism offer
  • Successful Interreg funding bid for an extended Maritime Heritage Trail initiative
  • First phase funding gained for new product development "Arts on the web" and "Bloomsbury in Sussex"
  • Appointment of a dedicated co-ordinator to manage programme delivery
  • Launch of first sub region wide campaign to attract the growing Lesbian and Gay markets to the area, focussed on the recognition of Brighton amongst the target segment, but encouraging visits across East Sussex
  • Delivery, in partnership with East Sussex County Council, of industry workshops on connecting to broadband and developing e-marketing programmes
  • Arrangement of cost effective budget management arrangements with TSE for the group to provide more funding to programmes
  • A number of successful press visits to East Sussex and Brighton
  • Launch of visiteastsussex.com website - www.visiteastsussex.com
