Business Advice
Advice for established and new tourism businesses
Tourism is responsible for the generation of £10.5bn every year and employs an estimated 300,000 people. This means that tourism is extremely important for the South East's economy and people.
We are currently in the midst of one of the most difficult set of economic conditions for several decades. Tourism South East has been committed to supporting the tourism industry throughout the downturn and this support will continue in to the predicted recovery.
While there is little individual organisations and businesses can do with regard to controlling or influencing that state of the economy at the macro level, members do have some control on the way they respond to such an economic slowdown.
As the driving force behind the region's industry, Tourism South East is here to help. Whether you are starting out,; looking to expand your business further or just seeking advise on how to survive, our expertise is available for you to use.
Redundancy Support in the South East
The Continuing Employment Support Service (CESS) is a joint initiative between SEEDA, Jobcentre Plus and other partners. Operating in the South East since 2003, it is a single point of contact for employers and employees wishing to access a wide range of support to help deal with the prospect of redundancy, ensuring, wherever possible, that individuals are ready and able to move into new employment. Our experienced and dedicated team of brokers work with employers to establish the needs of the company and the staff at risk of redundancy, to provide a free bespoke package of support. Our support package may include for example, information on entitlement to state benefits (and how to claim), job search, careers advice, CV writing and interview skills workshops and advice on tax related matters and financial planning. CESS can also access a range of other services too depending on the needs of the company. If you would like further details of the CESS service, please go to www.seeda.co.uk/helping-business/redundancy or contact SEEDA on 01483 470138.
