Resort Regeneration
Urban regeneration remains high on the agenda within the
Region and Tourism South East (TSE) is working with a wide range of partners to deliver programmes relating to job and business creation, infrastructure regeneration, brownfield site development, improved public realm and quality of life.
Seaside resorts have been the primary focus and programmes are now established in Sandown Bay, Hastings and Bexhill, Eastbourne, Camber Sands, Littlehampton, Margate, Brighton and Herne Bay.
Programmes vary according to local needs and priorities and range from site specific development briefs to wide ranging tourism management and branding studies.
TSE will also be working with partners to attract inward investment in product development and promotion to commercial investors related to site specific opportunities, which have been identified.
TSE are also engaged with the priority economic growth areas of Thames Gateway and Ashford to ensure that tourism and the wider cultural agenda is integrated with the ambitious development plans for these areas. To this end TSE and the Regions cultural agencies have jointly funded a dedicated post in the Thames Gateway area which is one of Europe's largest brownfield developments.
