Representing the Industry
...putting your interests first...
With over 2000 commercial members in an industry generating over £10bn per year, we are well placed to represent your views to the many bodies who hold an influence over tourism.
We can only do this through direct consultation with our members and using the Legal & Regulatory Sounding Board gives us the opportunity to stand-up for the grass-routes of the industry.
Political & Lobbying
Tourism South East work in partnership with the Tourism Alliance and Partners for England to represent the industry. Through these partnerships we respond to a number of government consultations, work directly with government departments and push important issues onto the agenda of decision-makers. With a constant eye on the political and regulatory issues coming out of Europe, Whitehall and at local level, we are uniquely positioned to fight the corner for the South East's tourism industry.

Partners for England
Tourism South East have been a key driver in promoting and supporting the Partners for England initiative. TSE chairs the Destination Manager's Handbook steering group which is to be relaunched in March 2008 along side the new 'Insights'. We also sit on the Tourism Intelligence Partnership steering group.
One of Partners for England's key achievements to date has been the establishment of Visit England the new stakeholder board that will represent and support tourism in England.

Planning
It is important that planning authorities are sympathetic to the development of tourism. It is equally important that the character and charm of the destination is retained. This is a difficult balance to achieve but TSE continues to promote and raise-awareness of issues that affect both current and prospective tourism businesses.
