Counter Terrorism for Visitor Attractions
The National Counter Terrorism Security Office has produced a guidance document for visitor attractions. The document advises attraction operators about what measures it should be taking to ensure the security of their premises, staff and visitors against the threat of terrorist action.
Many attractions are crowded whilst others are important cultural, religious or political sites, which makes them particularly vulnerable to attack.
Whilst safeguarding against these threats attraction operators also have to take in to account the fact that their businesses depend upon visitors being able to relax and enjoy themselves. So every effort needs to be taken to ensure that security measures do not impinge on these elements of the attraction. The guidance document addresses all of these concerns.
