Frequently Asked Questions

Do your courses lead to qualifications?

Welcome Host, the UK's most popular customer service course, can now lead to a nationally-recgonised City & Guilds Level Two Award. For a small extra fee, candidates can sit a formal multiple choice examination at the end of the course.  If they are successful, they will receive the City & Guilds qualification.

I don't know what training my staff need.  Can you help?

We would be delighted to talk through training that will help your staff and your business.  We can undertake an individual training need analysis, come up with a range of options and form an action plan.  Please contact your local skills co-ordinator for a chat.

We already run customer service training, can we combine it with Welcome to Excellence courses?

Yes, we offer many flexible options.  We can map your course against whichever of the Welcome to Excellence courses you choose to ensure core skills and knowledge content are included and your essential and 'best bits' are retained.

We can tailor our courses to reflect your culture, operating processes, policies and language.  Your staff can develop essential new, or advanced, skills in the context of their daily work.

You may have an existing in-house course and want to give people the chance to gain a qualification.  We can map your course against Welcome Host, which meets the national standards and develop a solution that results in a City & Guilds Level Two qualification.

I want a course or some training that isn't listed.  What should I do?

Please get in touch and we will aim to help find the training you need through our network of contacts across the South East.

I am interested in Welcome to Excellence customer service training but I am not based in the South East, can you help?

We have national responsibility for developing and helping deliver the Welcome to Excellence suite of courses.  Please contact us and we will put you in touch with accredited Welcome to Excellence training providers who are local to you.

Are courses only available on the scheduled dates?

No, we aim to be flexible and we can schedule courses to meet the individuals business - or groups - needs.  If you have a number of delegates wanting to take a course, please get in touch and we can discuss dates and locations.

I run a small business and don't have money to pay for training.  Are there any subsidies available?

Many of our training programmes are subsidised, with all or part of the activities often heavily subsidised.  There are often local and regional grants available to help small businesses access quality training.  Our local skills co-ordinators can advise on funding sources and opportunities and help you apply.
